Built from what is already here

Restore the ranch.
Expand its purpose.

Flat Creek Crossing Family Camp already has the bones of a remarkable destination. The plan is to repair and reopen it carefully, use Valley View as a new front door, and protect Child Inc.’s mission for the long term.

01 · Mission

A place that serves families

Protected program access, outdoor learning and family retreats keep Child Inc. visible in every part of the plan.

02 · Stewardship

Professional care of the land

Phased repairs, safer facilities, wildfire work and habitat management turn deferred maintenance into a funded operating plan.

03 · Sustainability

Revenue with restraint

Retreats, lodging and outdoor events support upkeep and Child Inc.’s work without changing the ranch into a dense resort.

The Primland lesson, scaled for Texas

The land is the experience.

Guests move through the ranch, not around it. A restored lodge district anchors the stay. Trails, creek access, family programs and dark-sky nights create reasons to return in every season.

  • Mountain biking and endurance weekends
  • Family camps and leadership retreats
  • Guided ecology and wildlife walks
  • Campouts, reunions and donor gatherings

A mission-preserving partnership

Child Inc. keeps its legacy.
The ranch gains a capable steward.

01

Protect the mission

Reserve annual Child Inc. program use and keep the ranch story tied to the families it serves.

02

Fund the recovery

Take responsibility for repairs, insurance, security, grounds and a phased reopening plan.

03

Build shared value

Create a durable revenue engine and a clear path for long-term control or ownership.

Concept presentation. The Flat Creek Crossing plan is based on Pharis Design’s final December 2023 presentation. The three-parcel Valley View boundary and existing improvement compound are modeled from the current ranch survey, listing materials and satellite imagery. Acreage, boundaries, access, uses and improvements remain subject to current survey, title, engineering, approvals and agreement with Child Inc.
